Sizzles

10 N. Adams was a vacant building that was overlooked for 25 years.  In 2017, with the help of the YDDA rehab and façade grants, the building went under a complete transformation.  The renovations included removing and replacing the windows units, redoing the side walk and parking lot, installing new awnings and exterior lights, cleaning and paint existing pole sign, and installing structural support for building.  Today, the beautiful new 10 N. Adams is the popular burger and subs joint, Sizzles.  Private investment: $82,000

Hyperion Coffee

Hyperion Coffee Company is a unique space tucked away near the train tracks at 306 N. River Street. This long vacant historic warehouse space needed extensive interior rehab to transform it into the café and retail space it is today. In April of 2016,The YDDA awarded Hyperion Coffee Company $5,000 to offset costs of building out an ADA compliant bathroom and installing an ADA compliant entrance. In In June of 2017, the YDDA awarded Hyperion Coffee Company $1000 to install new signage by artist Rob Todd. Private investment: $28,940

Eagles Market

501 W. Cross Street is the home of Eagles Market, a popular liquor store nestled between Eastern Michigan University, and the student housing district, Midtown. The dated façade and the roof were in desperate disrepair. In 2012, The Ypsilanti Downtown Development Authority granted Eagles market $10,000 towards the removal and replacement of the façade. Additionally, the YDDA awarded Eagles market $5,000 for the installation of exterior lighting on the building. Private investment: $75,537.44
